The Harry Potter Lacoste Polo

In 2015, while attending FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles for the Film & TV Costume Design program, my class was given the task to design a Lacoste Polo based on an iconic film character and their costume which was going to be displayed at the Costume Designers Guild Awards.

There was 9 of us in the class which meant one film from each decade since the 1920's.  The wand almost chose the wizard - I had picked "Breakfast at Tiffany's" out

of the, you could say, sorting hat. Not that I don't love "Breakfast at Tiffany's", after all, my dog's name is Holly Golightly and who doesn't love Audrey Hepburn?  But just as Harry chose Gryffindor, I had the opportunity to choose as well.  A friend of mine had picked "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" out of the hat and so we switched.

Below is the story of how The Harry Potter Lacoste Polo came to life from research to the display and all of the chapters in between...
